Job summary

Coffey, a family-owned Irish infrastructure company, is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial and contractual management across multiple projects in Ireland. The role requires building client relationships, identifying opportunities and driving business performance regionally.

Offices in Athenry, Maynooth and Rathcormac with a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days at home) and regular site visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
  • At least 10 years of commercial experience in construction.
  • Experience with Public Sector contracts.
  • Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Full clean Irish or EU driving licence.
  • Legal right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of projects from award to final account.
  • Prepare, negotiate and manage interim valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Monitor costs, cash flow and commercial performance with reporting.
  • Review contract documents, identify risks and ensure compliance.
  • Manage supplier agreements and subcontractor accounts with Procurement.
  • Develop relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
  • Support Regional Directors and project teams on commercial matters.
  • Lead, coach and support team members to deliver high performance.
  • Prepare and manage contractual claims when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes.

As a Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial and contractual management of multiple projects, working closely with Operations Directors, Regional Directors and project teams to ensure contracts are delivered successfully, commercially and in line with company procedures. The Commercial Manager will build strong client relationships, identify commercial opportunities and help drive business performance across the region.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of projects from award through to final account.

About you

To be successful as our Commercial Manager, you will have:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
  • At least 10 years' commercial experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on Public Sector contracts.
  • Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A full clean Irish or EU driving licence.
  • The legal right to work in Ireland.
