Job summary

Pod-Trak Ltd in Dublin is seeking a proactive Commercial Manager to join our commercial team. You will lead the commercial management of rail, civil engineering and energy projects, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, contractual compliance and timely reporting to drive sustainable growth.

You will oversee the commercial team, develop supply chain strategies, review tenders and cost data, and maintain strong relationships with key clients while navigating NEC/JCT contracts to optimise project

Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading commercial activities on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contract administration.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and negotiation skills.
  • Ideally, membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards professional qualification).
  • Experience within Rail, Civil Engineering or Infrastructure programmes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of cost control and project reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account.
  • Appraise and review commercial terms and various contract forms, providing advice on risks, exposure and liabilities.
  • Lead monthly CVR reporting and provide clear updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop the commercial team, providing leadership and mentorship.
  • Manages the feedback of commercial data to Planning and Estimating.
  • Review tenders and cost data to manage the preparation of target cost for a project.
  • Manage supply chain strategy, procurement and commercial performance.
  • Manage supply chain partners and specialist contractors.
  • Manage the preparation and review of Earned Value Management.
  • Deal with contract notices, compensation events, variations and disallowed costs.
  • Have experience with dispute resolution and avoidance.
  • Co-ordinate buying, accounts, production control/planning, supply chain management and procurement techniques, estimating and surveying functions.
  • Manage and report on commercial risk and opportunity.
  • Manage and develop key client relationships.
  • Be aware of market conditions and potential developments.
  • Set excellent standards in communication and representation of the business’ core values.
  • Maximise and achieve business performance targets.
