Job description

Our client is a well-established, fast-growing main contractor with a strong and expanding presence in the pharmaceutical and life sciences construction sector. Operating primarily across the Greater Dublin area, they have built a reputation for delivering technically demanding, highly regulated projects within controlled and cleanroom environments.

The business has grown considerably in recent years, driven by sustained demand from a blue-chip client base within the pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing sectors. This growth has been matched by continued investment in people, systems and processes, positioning the company as a genuine specialist within its niche.

Known for its technical capability, quality of delivery and long-standing client relationships, this is a business that competes with, and regularly outperforms, larger Tier 1 organisations on complex, fast-track schemes. With an expanding pipeline of new opportunities, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth and is investing accordingly in its commercial function.

This is a people-focused organisation with a flat, accessible structure. Senior leadership, including the CEO, are closely involved in day-to-day business decisions, offering a level of visibility and influence rarely available in larger, more corporate contracting environments.

You will take ownership of the commercial function for a portfolio of pharmaceutical and controlled-environment projects, working closely with operational and delivery teams to ensure commercial performance is protected and enhanced across every scheme.

Projects within this sector are technically complex, highly regulated and demand a meticulous approach to commercial management, from procurement and contract administration through to final account. You will be exposed to a broad and varied range of cleanroom, process and critical-environment works, giving genuine depth of experience within a specialist niche.

The culture is collaborative, commercially astute and focused on continuous improvement. As the sector portfolio grows, you will play a central role in building out the surveying team, shaping best practice and mentoring less experienced surveyors as they develop within the business.

With direct access to the CEO and senior leadership team, this role offers a level of exposure and influence that extends well beyond a typical commercial lead position, providing a genuine platform to shape the future direction of the sector.

  • Report directly to the CEO on commercial performance, providing accurate forecasting and strategic input
  • Support the ongoing growth of the sector by contributing to bids, tenders and commercial strategy
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and industry best practice
