Job summary

Prodieco, founded in Dublin, Ireland, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to program and set up CNC machines, reading designs and blueprints to produce high-precision components. The role requires interpreting drawings, operating milling machinery, and maintaining daily TPM and safety standards.

You will work to achieve right-first-time production, optimize machine performance, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as CNC operator.
  • Programming using G-Codes and M-Codes.
  • Must be availble to work evenings.
  • Skill in operating milling machinery and tooling and precision measurement tools.
  • Experience with controllers FANUC, SIEMENS or Heidenhain.
  • Experience in prototyping environment and reading mechanical drawings.
  • Computer literacy with basic CAD/CAM knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC Machines.
  • Understand specifications by reading blueprints and drawings.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate parts.
  • Inspect and measure finished products against requirements.
  • Maintain machinery daily (TPM) and safety procedures.
  • Aim for right first time components and KPI targets.
  • Address quality issues and seek guidance if needed.

CNC Machinist

Role Overview:

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming and setting up CNC Machines in the most effective and efficient way to machine parts from design drawings. The CNC machinist will become knowledgeable with all CNC control panels and programming parameter within the company and understand how to read and interpret drawings. The role reports to our CNC Section Lead.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and operate CNC Machines
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts or one off.
  • Supervise the Millingwhile they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality (TPM)
  • Be responsible for achieving machine optimisation KPI’s.
  • Achieve agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure right first time components are delivered to both internal and external customers.
  • Take responsibility for addressing quality issues and if unable to resolve, seek guidance from others on how best to resolve them.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Take responsibility for generating and submitting ideas. Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement by being inquisitive.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven experience as a CNCoperator
  • Programming experience using G-Codes and M-Codes
  • Must be availble to work evenings
  • Skill in operating millingmachinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
  • Experience in operation/setting Hitachi, Doosan, Mazak, Hurco or Mori Seiki Mills
  • Knowledge of controllers desired: FANUC, SIEMENS and Heidenheim
  • Experience in one off/ prototyping environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
