Job summary

Frey Consulting Group in Dublin is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Dublin-based manufacturing team. You will program, set and operate CNC machinery to manufacture components to exact customer specifications in a precision engineering environment.

This hands-on role offers exposure to challenging projects and opportunities to develop your CNC programming expertise while contributing to continuous improvement and meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in CNC machining or toolmaking environments.
  • Ability to program, set and operate CNC machines.
  • Strong reading of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Set and operate CNC equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
  • Select tooling and machining processes.
  • Perform first-off inspections and quality checks.
  • Adjust programs and offsets as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimise cycle times.
  • Maintain quality and safety throughout production.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to meet deadlines.

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a respected precision engineering specialist serving a diverse range of industries including medical devices, aerospace, automation, manufacturing and industrial engineering. Known for their quality, technical expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction, they continue to invest in both advanced machinery and employee development.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their Dublin-based manufacturing team.

THE ROLE:

The successful CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery while ensuring components are manufactured to exact customer specifications and quality standards.

This is a hands-on position offering exposure to a variety of challenging and technically interesting projects within a precision engineering environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Programming CNC milling and/or turning machines
  • Setting and operating CNC equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Selecting appropriate tooling and machining processes
  • Conducting first-off inspections and quality checks
  • Adjusting machine programs and offsets where required
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing
  • Troubleshooting machining issues and optimising cycle timesMaintaining quality and safety standards throughout production
  • Collaborating with engineering and production teams to meet customer deadlines
THE PERSON:

We are looking to speak with candidates who have experience within CNC machining, precision engineering, toolmaking, manufacturing or mechanical engineering environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous CNC programming, setting and operating experience
  • Experience with CNC milling, turning or multi-axis machining centres
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
