Job summary

Google Ireland Ltd. is seeking a technically adept professional to diagnose and resolve data center blockers, while designing and iterating internal tools and automated workflows to streamline incident management.

You will collaborate with Systems and Server Operations teams to identify root causes and implement durable fixes. The role emphasizes ownership of full technical project lifecycles, strong communication, and cross-functional teamwork, with responsibilities including on-call rotations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with two or more of the following: Web Technology, Data or Big Data, Systems Administration, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, and SAP.
• 5 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
• Experience owning a full life-cycle of technical projects including design, development, maintenance, and implementing improvements.
• Experience reading code in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, JavaScript) or in system design.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot data center blockers and stakeholder concerns to achieve swift resolution.
• Design, improve, and iterate on internal tools, software, and automated frameworks to streamline the issue management life-cycle.
• Create standardized technical playbooks and processes that enable the Google Server Operations team to manage and resolve issues autonomously.
• Partner with Engineering and Server Operations stakeholders to investigate, identify, and fix the fundamental root causes of negative business outcomes.
• Manage project schedules and timelines while fostering engagement with various cross-functional partners and providing essential business support by participating in weekend on-call duties or assigned work shift rotations.
