eir Business, the B2B division of eir, seeks a Cloud Practice Architect with deep hands-on infra and virtualization experience for Irish public cloud platforms. You will collaborate with Professional Services, Cloud Operations, and Service Delivery to design, implement and support customer cloud environments across multiple datacentres.

Formación

  • Minimum 6 years experience in a hands-on infrastructure, cloud or virtualisation engineering role.
  • Strong experience deploying, upgrading and supporting VMware, HPE Morpheus/VME, Nutanix, Proxmox or OpenShift Virtualization environments.
  • Good troubleshooting skills, following a logical and systematic approach to identify symptoms, eliminate causes, diagnose root cause and provide resolution.
  • Experience delivering technical implementation work for customer projects or managed service environments.
  • Understanding of compute, storage, networking, backup and disaster recovery considerations.

Responsabilidades

  • Deliver VMware migrations to alternative platforms.
  • Configure and support enterprise SAN technologies, including Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage environments.
  • Assist with storage presentation, multipathing, zoning, datastore configuration and capacity management.
  • Support customer infrastructure upgrades, migrations and remediation activities.
  • Support the design of customer cloud and infrastructure solutions, including high-level designs, low-level designs, bill of materials input, migration approaches and implementation planning.
  • Assess customer requirements and propose appropriate virtualization, storage, backup and disaster recovery architectures that are secure, resilient and operationally supportable.
  • Produce technical documentation, implementation plans, test plans and operational handover material.
  • Work alongside project managers and service delivery teams during customer implementations.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and service requests.

Responsibilities

This role requires an experienced Cloud Practice Architectwith strong working experience across hypervisors, enterprise storage, disasterrecovery and backup technologies. Experience with public cloud is highlydesirable.

The successful candidate will work with ProfessionalServices, Cloud Operations, Project Management and Service Delivery teams todeliver customer projects and maintain cloud platform services across multipledatacentres.

The role involves implementation, upgrade and support of anIrish public cloud infrastructure along with the backend systems supporting it.

The role also includes contributing to the design andsolution architecture of customer cloud environments, translating customerrequirements into secure, scalable and supportable infrastructure designs thatalign with operational standards, resilience requirements and managed servicedelivery models.

Tasks will involve:

  • DeliverVMware migrations to alternative platforms.

Requirements For ASuccessful Application:

The Candidate:

  • Excellentinterpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experiencecontributing to the design of new customer cloud solutions, includingcompute, storage, backup and disaster recovery considerations.
  • Stronghands-on infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Abilityto take ownership of technical issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Provenability to work well under pressure in customer and operationalenvironments.
  • Abilityto work collaboratively with project, operations and service deliveryteams.
  • Abilityto mentor and support more junior team members when required.

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum6 years experience in a hands-on infrastructure, cloud or virtualisationengineering role.
  • Strongexperience deploying, upgrading and supporting VMware, HPE Morpheus/VME,Nutanix, Proxmox or OpenShift Virtualization environments.

  • Workingknowledge of the following:
  • VMwarevSphere, VMware ESXi, vCenter Server and vSAN.
  • KVMhypervisor solutions such as Proxmox, HVM, etc.
  • Enterprisestorage and SAN concepts, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, zoning,multipathing, LUN presentation and datastore management.
  • Disasterrecovery technologies, including Zerto implementation, testing andoperational support.
  • VeeamBackup & Replication, including backup jobs, repositories, proxies,restores and recovery testing.

Preferred:

  • VMwareVCP certification or equivalent experience.
  • VeeamVMCE certification or equivalent experience.
  • Zertocertification or demonstrable implementation experience.
  • Relevantthird-level qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ahigh level of professionalism and attention to detail.
