Job summary

Medtronic in Galway, Ireland, is hiring an entry-level Cloud Engineer I to support PCS cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS environments, Windows and Linux systems, and automation. You will contribute to reliable, secure infrastructure delivery under supervision, with exposure to Terraform and Ansible and monitoring via CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Dynatrace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows and Linux systems and CLI tools.
• Basic experience with containerised applications.
• Exposure to infrastructure automation tools like Terraform/Ansible.
• Programming or scripting experience in Go, Python, or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an entry-level cloud engineer on a project with close supervision.
• Support cloud infrastructure tasks on smaller or less complex projects.
• Assist with building, maintaining, and improving AWS environments (EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, etc.).
• Contribute to IaC and automation using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Assist with CI/CD pipeline maintenance and automation under guidance from senior engineers.
• Use monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Dynatrace for troubleshooting.
