Job summary

PFH Technology Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure cloud platforms for Digital Evidence Management Systems across AWS and Azure. This hands-on role focuses on implementing cloud infrastructures, integrations, and operational tooling to support critical services.

The successful candidate will work within a delivery team, applying best practices in security, automation and cost governance while enabling scalable, resilient platforms for public sector needs

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Terraform, Bicep, ARM or CloudFormation for IaC.
• Networking, IAM, encryption and cloud security fundamentals.
• Experience integrating APIs and data pipelines.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Python or Bash.

Senior Cloud Engineer - AWS & Azure (Daily Rate Contract)

PFH Technology is working with a large public sector organisation to recruit a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with strong AWS and Microsoft Azure experience.

This is a hands‑on engineering role, focused on building, integrating and operating secure, scalable cloud platforms that support critical Digital Evidence Management Systems and related services.

The Role:

You will work as part of a technical delivery team, taking ownership of cloud infrastructure engineering, system integrations and ongoing optimisation. The role requires strong practical experience rather than high-level advisory architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer AWS and Azure infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.
• Build and integrate cloud platforms supporting DEMS solutions.
• Design and implement secure networking, identity and access controls.
• Develop and operate APIs, data ingestion pipelines and event-driven integrations.
• Implement monitoring, logging, security controls and operational tooling.
• Optimise performance and cloud spend across AWS and Azure environments.
• Support technical input into tenders and solution designs from an engineering standpoint.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and integration issues.

Required Experience

• Strong practical expertise across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM or CloudFormation).
• Solid background in networking, IAM, encryption and cloud security.
• Experience integrating third‑party and internal systems via APIs and data pipelines.
• CI/CD pipeline and DevOps experience.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python or Bash).
• Experience in public sector, justice or regulated environments.
• Exposure to Digital Evidence Management Systems or similar platforms.
• Experience building or supporting public‑facing upload or submission portals.
