RecruitNet International Ltd is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology/Hematology for a hospital in Galway, Ireland. This is a full-time temporary position (maternity leave cover) based in Galway.

The CNS will lead the oncology team, ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support treatment planning. The role offers development opportunities and a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

Be registered with the NMBI to practice as a nurse.
Minimum of 1 year full-time experience in Haematology/Oncology.
Post-registration Cancer Nursing qualification at Level 9+ (60 ECTS) or equivalent.
CPD relevant to Haematology/Oncology nursing practice.
Demonstrate leadership, organizational and administrative skills.

Responsabilités

Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff in oncology care.
Coordinate and manage daily operations of the Oncology Day Unit.
Support, mentor and develop nursing staff.
Ensure compliance with standards, hospital policies and oncology care protocols.
Monitor and evaluate patient care practices for quality and safety.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for treatment planning and patient outcomes.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits and risk management.
Ensure accurate documentation and governance compliance.
Support patient and family education on treatment and care plans.
Promote ongoing professional development in oncology nursing practices.
