We are currently recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology/ Hematology for a hospital in Galway, Ireland . This is a full-time temporary position (maternity leave cover) offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to join a dynamic oncology team and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
Be registered as a nurse on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the NMBI.
Have a minimum of one year’s full-time experience, or an aggregate of one year’s full-time experience, in the specialist area of Haematology/Oncology.
Hold a relevant post-registration qualification in Cancer Nursing at QQI/NFQ Level 9 or higher, equivalent to 60 ECTS credits or above.
The relevant Level 9 or higher qualification must meet the requirements for specialist practice as outlined by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery.
Alternatively, provide written confirmation from a recognised Higher Education Institute demonstrating completion of the required ECTS credits at Level 9 or higher in the specialist area of Cancer.
Demonstrate ongoing continuing professional development relevant to Haematology/Oncology nursing practice.
Demonstrate the ability to provide safe and effective nursing care while fulfilling professional responsibilities within the appropriate scope of practice.
Possess the required clinical knowledge, skills and professional competence necessary to fulfil the duties of the Clinical Nurse Specialist role.
Demonstrate strong leadership, managerial, organisational and administrative skills, along with a high standard of professional suitability.
Nurses currently holding a Level 8 qualification in the specialist area, equivalent to 60 ECTS credits or above, may have this qualification recognised for CNS applications up to September 2026.
