Orange Recruitment is assisting a leading private hospital in Dublin to recruit a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Oncology.

The CNS will provide expert nursing care, patient education, and care coordination across outpatient, inpatient and day-care settings, acting as a key worker for patients and families.

The role offers education, mentorship, and clear career progression within a supportive oncology service.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration on the NMBI.
• Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience, including significant experience within oncology nursing.
• Postgraduate qualification in Oncology Nursing or a related specialty.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Experience managing patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive oncology care.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Proven ability to assess complex patient needs and implement effective care plans.
• Experience in patient education and care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist nursing care to oncology patients across outpatient, inpatient, and day-care settings.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
• Provide symptom management and supportive care throughout the patient journey.
• Monitor patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patients' physical, psychological, social, and emotional needs are addressed.
• Facilitate timely referrals to allied healthcare professionals and support services.
• Provide education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, side-effect management, and survivorship.

Job Purpose

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Oncology will provide expert clinical care, support, and education to patients undergoing cancer treatment within the hospital's oncology service. The post holder will act as a key worker for patients and their families, ensuring high standards of evidence-based nursing care, care coordination, patient advocacy, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
