Job summary

Focus Ireland is seeking a part-time Cleaning Operative in Dublin to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and tenants across multiple sites. You will prepare houses for move-in, clean offices and grounds, and work to a flexible five-day rota covering morning and afternoon shifts.

The role requires experience in cleaning, strong communication, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Driving licence and relevant certificates are desirable but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication.

• Previous experience in a dedicated cleaning role.
• Understanding of the client group supported by Focus Ireland.
• Reasonable IT skills.
• Driving licence is desirable.
• Manual handling and chemical handling certificates are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain offices, grounds and housing across sites.
• Complete monthly stock checks and maintain stock records.
• Report hazards or risks to senior staff.
• Report maintenance issues to the assigned staff member.
• Work as part of a team and cooperate with colleagues.
• Attend team and organisational meetings as required.
• Follow Focus Ireland policies including Health and Safety.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for staff and tenants across the service, including communal areas, offices, and onsite housing. This includes preparing and cleaning houses for move-in in partnership with service support staff.

What You Will Do

• Work in line with the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.
• Follow all Focus Ireland policies and procedures, including the Health and Safety Policy.
• Work to the daily routine set by line management or appointed systems, including a flexible five-day rota covering morning and afternoon shifts.
• Complete monthly stock checks, maintain stock records, and request cleaning materials from the appointed person in a timely manner, in consultation with the line manager.
• Maintain cyclical cleaning records and record information required for the NQSF cleaning programme.
• Work collaboratively with other Focus Ireland facilities staff and cooperate with contractors as agreed with the line manager.
• Attend regular supervision and training as agreed with the line manager.
• Clean offices, grounds, and housing across various sites, and prepare houses as required.
• Report any hazards or risks to senior staff immediately.
• Report maintenance issues to the assigned staff member.
• Work as part of a team and cooperate with colleagues.
• Attend team, divisional, and organisational meetings as required.
• Be flexible, within reason and with prior notice, regarding work location and hours.
• Comply with Focus Ireland’s Working Alone and Confidentiality policies.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned by the manager.
