Job summary

OUTsurance Ireland seeks a Claims Team Manager to lead the Motor Claims team at our Cherrywood, Dublin 18 office. You will coach and develop the team, manage performance, and ensure efficient, fair claims handling with strong customer outcomes.

You will report to the Head of Claims, shaping department development as the business grows, while maintaining regulatory compliance and improving processes and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ experience handling Motor claims in an insurance environment.
  • Leadership experience within a claims environment is advantageous.
  • APA qualification is required; CIP qualification desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Motor claims processes, including liability assessment, reserving and end-to-end management.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to fair customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Motor claims advisors, supporting individual development and overall team performance.
  • Create an engaging and supportive team environment that encourages accountability, collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Monitor workloads, service levels, quality standards and other key performance measures.
  • Ensure Motor claims are handled fairly, accurately and in line with procedures, regulatory requirements and service standards.
  • Support the team with technical queries, complex claims and customer escalations.
  • Conduct regular performance discussions, coaching sessions and quality reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Support development and implementation of new claims processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other managers and departments to support wider business objectives.

At OUTsurance, we are focused on delivering excellent service, driving innovation and growing together. As we continue to expand in the Irish market, we are looking for a Claims Team Manager to lead and develop a team within our Motor Claims Department.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Claims, you will lead a team responsible for handling Motor claims, ensuring they are managed efficiently, fairly and with a strong focus on customer outcomes.

You will play an important role in coaching and developing team members, managing performance and maintaining appropriate technical oversight. You will also help shape how the Motor Claims Department develops as the business grows, contributing to improvements in our processes, customer experience and overall performance.

This role is based full-time on-site at our Cherrywood, Dublin 18 office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Motor claims advisors, supporting both individual development and overall team performance.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, operational efficiency and the customer experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of new claims processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other managers and departments to support the wider objectives of the business.
What We’re Looking For

Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience handling Motor claims within an insurance environment.

Management Experience: Previous leadership experience within a claims environment is an advantage but is not essential. Candidates with strong technical expertise and experience in coaching or mentoring others are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications: APA (Accredited Product Adviser) qualification is required. A CIP qualification is desirable but is not essential.

Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of Motor claims processes, including liability assessment, reserving and the management of claims through to resolution.

Attention to Detail: The ability to assess claims critically, identify potential issues and maintain accuracy in decision-making.

Dynamic Mindset: Adaptability, initiative and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a growing and developing business.
