What Is the Opportunity?

We are recruiting for a Claims Handler to join our team on a permanent, full‑time basis in our Dublin office. Key qualifications: strong experience handling motor material damage claims and liability claims across EL, PL, and Motor; must hold an Accredited Product Advisor (APA) designation. In this role you will provide expert claims handling across investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution, working in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and best practices. You will support the Claims Management team by delivering quality claims handling and excellent customer service, ensuring the Claims function runs effectively and that service standards are consistently maintained. This role does not have people management responsibilities.The position is a Controlled Function (CF6) role within the Senior Executive Accountability Regime (SEAR), as set out in the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) Act 2023, and is subject to the rules and regulations of the relevant regulators. As part of this, we will assess and certify that you meet the applicable Fitness and Probity (F&P) standards upon appointment and on an annual basis thereafter. You will also be required to abide by the Conduct Standards under SEAR.Travelers Europe offers flexibility for employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis: three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro‑rata for part‑time employees). This policy may change at the Company’s discretion.

What Will You Do?
  • Analyze and apply policy coverage accurately to all assigned claims.
  • Investigate assigned claims.
  • Negotiate and settle claims proactively in accordance with Company guidelines and best practices.
  • Reserve claims accurately in accordance with Company guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure that Company service standards are upheld.
  • Maintain data accuracy.
  • Instruct, liaise with and manage external vendors and monitor the quality and cost of their services, ensuring required technical and service standards are met.
  • Authorize claim payments and reserves within agreed claims handling authority.
  • Provide technical advice.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships both externally and internally.
  • Work as a team member, providing support as required and fully participating in individual and shared project work.
  • Assist Senior Claim Professionals and others with larger and more complex claims, where required.
  • Openly communicate knowledge of actions with manager and colleagues to better understand impact on other technical, operational, sales and financial disciplines.
  • Proactively participate in training and other learning and development activities to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and other skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Possess and demonstrate a level of general technical knowledge and other skills sufficient to handle an assigned caseload of claims within designated handling authority.
  • Preferably have experience in a claim handling environment.
  • Be capable of handling claims competently in line with required technical standards, best practices and service level standards.
  • Intermediate communication skills, business perspective, ability to build collaborative relationships, openness to influence, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically, exercise sound judgment and decision making, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Advanced customer focus.
What Is a Must Have?
  • Minimum Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification.
  • Some prior insurance‑related activity experience (e.g., paralegal, insurance operations, insurance broker).
