Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland is seeking a Claims Investigator to join our claims team in the Dundrum area. You will assess injury claims across employers’ liability, public liability and motor liability, determining fault and supporting our clients with clear decisions.

The role emphasizes investigative, negotiation and analytical skills, reporting to claims handlers and defence solicitors, with hybrid working arrangements and opportunities to grow within a values-driven insurer.

Qualifications

• APA/CIP qualification required.
• 2–3 years' experience in a similar or relevant role.
• Full clean driver's licence; company car provided.
• Overnight stays may be necessary.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Excellent negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective investigation, negotiation and settlement for claims.
• Undertake audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers for quality.
• Prepare and deliver case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers and Defence Solicitors.
• Conduct claims investigation and negotiations for preferred clients.
• Offer precautionary and post-event guidance to minimize future claims.
• Maintain profitable accounts through technical expertise to meet targets.
• Act as a referral point, providing expert advice and guidance.

Claims Investigator

Claims Investigator role involves evaluating all types of injury claims. You will spend your time establishing where the fault lies in employers' liability, public liability and motor liability.

You will spend the majority of your time investigating accidents Employers, Public and Motor with our policyholder's providing decision on legal liability.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives. You will provide quality investigation reports to our claims handlers and Defence Solicitors.

Key Responsibilities

• The provision of the most effective and efficient investigation, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
• Undertaking audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers to ensure quality service
• Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority to preferred clients
• Undertaking claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients
• Providing precautionary and post-event advice and guidance to preferred Intact Insurance customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
• The profitable maintenance of account through the provision of technical expertise for claims in order to meet the business objectives/ targets.
• Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.

Requirements
