Qualifications

• APA qualification in Commercial Insurance is required, with CIP qualification or progress towards this advantageous.
• Previous experience within claims, claims operations or the wider insurance sector.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with data, filters and spreadsheets; knowledge of PivotTables would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to reviewing claims information and data.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities without compromising accuracy.
• Analytical and logical approach with a willingness to learn and further develop technical insurance knowledge.
• Comfortable working within a small team and taking ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with brokers, loss adjusters, external claims handlers, solicitors and other third-party stakeholders.
• Review claims information and documentation, ensuring files and supporting data are complete and accurate.
• Prepare and validate claims bordereaux, identifying missing information and maintaining high standards of data quality.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to improve claims processes, monitoring and operational efficiency.
• Support the oversight and audit of third-party claims providers and assist with wider claims governance activities.
• Contribute to system enhancements, process improvements and the continued development of the claims function.

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Claims Handler to join our client within the insurance sector. This is a varied position offering exposure to a European claims portfolio, combining claims management with data analysis, third-party oversight and ongoing process improvement.
