Job summary

GMC Utilities Group in Ireland is seeking an experienced Civils Site Supervisor to lead on utility and infrastructure projects. You will manage civil crews, liaise with clients and project managers, and ensure work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires a driving licence, site experience, ability to read drawings, and strong leadership and communication skills. You will mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement of processes.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence is essential.
• Engineering qualification desirable.
• Experience in civils, drainage or utilities.
• Read and interpret drawings.
• Know-how of project costs.
• Experience leading site teams.
• Knowledge of HSQE requirements.
• Ground-support systems knowledge.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Run multiple projects in urban and rural environments.
• Liaise with clients and client representatives to successfully deliver projects and build relationships.
• Act as a key contact between the client, Project Managers and Site Managers.
• Create a strong leadership environment within the project/site team.
• Manage civil crews on separate sites nationwide.
• Carry out regular/daily site visits.
• Monitor health, safety, quality, environmental compliance.
• Review and interpret design drawings in detail.
• Plan delivery of materials and logistics for crews.
• Provide project/status reports to clients.
• Ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
