Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers in Dublin 18 is seeking Christmas seasonal staff to join as a Seasonal Cheesemonger, Retail Assistant, or Runner. You will serve customers, prepare cheese, build festive hampers, and help behind the scenes to make Christmas happen.

No cheesemongering experience is required; a love for good food, willingness to learn, and teamwork are key. In-house training and staff discounts accompany the role during the busy season.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or food is helpful, but full training will be provided.
• A genuine interest in cheese or artisan foods is preferred, but not essential.
• Willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and enjoyment of working with customers and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and providing friendly, helpful service in a busy retail environment.
• Learning about and sharing knowledge of cheese, artisan foods, and the producers behind them.
• Helping customers choose products, discover new flavours, and find the perfect pairings.
• Preparing, caring for, and displaying cheese and other products to a high standard.
• Supporting the team with deliveries, stock rotation, and keeping the shop well organised.
• Preparing and presenting festive food hampers.
• Keeping counters, fridges, and work areas clean and tidy.
• Helping the team deliver a smooth and enjoyable customer experience throughout the busy Christmas period.

We're looking for seasonal team members to join Sheridans Cheesemongers over the busy Christmas period. From serving customers and preparing cheese to building festive hampers and keeping things running behind the scenes, you'll be part of the team that makes Christmas at Sheridans happen.

No previous cheesemongering experience is needed. An interest in cheese and good food is preferred, but not essential. What's most important is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an enjoyment of working with customers and as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in food, cheese, or artisan products is preferred, but not essential.
• Friendly, confident communication and a willingness to engage with customers.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
• Flexibility and availability to work 4–5 days per week, including weekends, to support business needs.
• Previous retail or food experience is helpful, but full training will be provided.
