Job summary

Corlann – West Region (Spraoi Children’s Respite Service) in Roscommon town is seeking competent Social Care Workers. A panel may be formed from this process to fill future appointments over the next 6 months.

Job Ref: 104845. The role involves acting as a key-worker for children/young people, providing a safe environment, assisting with personal care, leading shifts when required, and ensuring HIQA standards are met.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
• Or eligible under the Section 91 route for registration in the Social Care Workers Register.
• A full clean manual Driving Licence is essential; may need Class D1 licence.
• Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
• Experience with intellectual disability or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Experience in goal setting and person-centred programme implementation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil a key-worker and supportive role for the children/young people to ensure safety.
• Lead shifts when required and work constructively with colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards.
• Network with local community groups to develop positive links for service users.
• Support goal setting and outcomes through a person-centred approach.
