This appointment presents an opportunity for an established technology executive to shape enterprise technology strategy, strengthen operational resilience and ensure technology capabilities support the organisation’s long-term commercial and regulatory objectives.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will operate at the intersection of technology, risk and business strategy, providing executive leadership across a critical business function.

The Mandate

The incoming CIO will be responsible for defining the organisation’s technology direction and ensuring its technology estate, infrastructure and governance frameworks are positioned to support sustainable growth.

This requires a leader who can combine strategic vision with operational discipline, making considered investment decisions while maintaining the security, resilience and regulatory integrity of the organisation’s technology environment.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture: Define and execute the technology roadmap, aligning architecture, infrastructure and investment with the organisation’s strategic priorities.
  • Operational Resilience & Security: Maintain robust technology controls, cyber resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Governance & Regulatory Accountability: Ensure technology operations, risk management and control frameworks meet applicable regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Transformation & Investment: Prioritise technology modernisation, platform development and investment to improve scalability, efficiency and business performance.
  • Executive Leadership: Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and executive leadership team, translating technology considerations into clear commercial decisions.
  • Organisational Capability: Build and develop a high-performing technology function with clear accountability, effective delivery disciplines and strong technical leadership.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Oversee critical suppliers, technology partners and third-party dependencies, ensuring appropriate performance, resilience and value.
The Profile

We are interested in engaging with senior technology leaders who have operated at CIO, CTO or equivalent executive level within financial services, payments or another appropriately regulated environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A track record of shaping and delivering enterprise technology strategy.
  • Experience leading complex technology environments with accountability for resilience, security and operational performance.
  • A strong understanding of technology risk, governance and regulatory expectations.

  • The leadership capability to develop technology teams and build organisational confidence in technology delivery.

Experience within a Central Bank-regulated organisation, including familiarity with relevant senior management accountability requirements, would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This is a strategically significant appointment for a technology executive seeking meaningful influence over business direction, enterprise risk and the organisation’s future technology capabilities.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape priorities at executive level and establish the foundations for the organisation’s next phase of development.

All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence.
