Brightwater Executive is delighted to be engaged on this unique CEO opportunity. A rare opportunity to join a fast-scaling global Insurtech, as they establish and scale their European MGA here in Ireland.
The CEO will lead out the MGA business and play a pivotal role in the day-to-day leadership and operational oversight across - underwriting, operation and robust financial stewardship with full P&L management, as their PCF 8 role holder. Fully responsible for their insurance distribution business.
The ideal candidate will be commercially driven, astute leader with a strong appetite for innovation, disruptive competition, and great energy to successfully scale a differentiated general insurance provider in the market.
- Ensure effective execution across all functions, with strong performance management and accountability.
- Build a high-performing GTM strategy for the MGA, working closely with cross jurisdictional and cross functional teams.
- Oversee delegated underwriting authority and guidelines are in line with the MGA's risk parameters, ensure compliance & risk management frameworks along with board governance is in line with CBI requirements, working closely with PCF 12 & 14 roles holder.
- Be a strong culture carrier, championing the company’s values as the company evolves, scale and grows in Europe.
Growth & Commercial Performance
- Deliver upon annual business strategy and targets – driving year on year growth, bottom line profitability across new product launches / new country entries.
- Leverage B2B new product development and customer acquisition omni-channels.
- Build and scale commercially sustainable growth engines across commercial line products, distribution, and partnerships.
- Agile, intrapreneurial mindset and an ability to work in a fast-moving, highly regulated market, leading a competitive positioning and execution.
Board & Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage Board stakeholders, providing clear reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Engage credibly with regulators, shareholders and vendor partners.
- Review and implement an ambitious strategic business plan aligned with Board objectives.
Innovation & Market Disruption
- Champion innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement, speed, with robust risk management. Identify and exploit new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Ideal Skills and Qualifications
- Senior commercial non-life insurance professional with PCF experience (ideally 5 years +), with a strong background in operations / underwriting / commercial strategy / distribution.
- Demonstrable experience, competence and capacity appropriate to running a regulated MGA, insurance intermediary.
- Comfortable being hands in the day-to-day operations and detail, given the green field set up here in Ireland, will also be key.
- Prior track record with taking a firm through a Central Bank authorisation is a distinct advantage Manage the CBI relationship, through application, through to start up and scale up phases.
- 3rd level business degree. ACII, FCII, APA or equivalent.
- Proven commercial scaling experience and owner of a P&L.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills. Someone who thrives in an environment that is constantly innovating to compete, challenging the status quo.
- Well versed on vendor management governance and oversight
- Digital native or significant experience with digital platforms and digital change transformation programmes / work streams.
- Ability to work and thrive in fast paced, complex business environments across multiple stakeholder is multiple regions, working across Europe, the UK and the US.
