Job summary

MGT Caterinf is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join its professional kitchen team at Newlands Golf Club. This is a permanent, full-time role comprising 39 working hours per week and a gross annual salary of €36,605.00.

The successful candidate will run an assigned kitchen section, preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to high standards with strong organisational skills and the ability to work under busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional chef experience required.
• Experience in a busy commercial kitchen desired.
• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods.
• Understanding of HACCP and allergen controls.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage a section.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Maintain consistent quality and standards.

Responsibilities

• Organise and manage daily preparation of an assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare, cook and present menu items to required quality and presentation standards.
• Complete mise en place accurately for service.
• Check ingredient quality, freshness and suitability before use.
• Monitor stock levels and follow FIFO procedures.
• Minimise food waste through portion control and storage.
• Maintain food-temperature and kitchen-safety records where required.
• Comply with HACCP procedures and hygiene standards.
• Prevent cross-contamination by following cleaning procedures.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service.
• Support junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist senior chefs with menu prep and daily specials.
