SuperValu in Ireland is seeking an on-site Checkout Assistant for the Evening Shifts. You will operate the till, weigh and price produce, and check ages on restricted items while delivering excellent customer service. The role involves stock duties and contributing to team meetings to uphold brand standards.

The ideal candidate will have retail experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Desirable 2 years' experience in a retail role.
• Ability to balance tills accurately.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to prioritise customer needs.

Responsabilités

• Actively live SuperValu brand values (Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative).
• Use a computerised till system with barcode scanner.
• Weigh and price produce such as fruit and vegetables.
• Check customers' ages for restricted items (e.g., alcohol).
• Process store loyalty cards, coupons and vouchers.
• Take payments and ensure till balances at end of day.
• Stock shelves and check stock levels away from the till.
• Merchandise and present the department to a high standard.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings and apply learnings.

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Checkout Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• 2 years€,, experience in a retail role is desirable
  
• Ability to balance tills
  
• Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
  
• Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
  
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  Main Duties:

  • Spend time away from the till, stocking shelves and checking stock
    
  • Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times
    
  • Attend and engage in team meetings and implement any learnings
