Job summary

Bon Secours Harbour View is seeking a qualified Sterile Processing Technician Certified to join our Central Sterile Processing team. The role involves inspecting, cleaning, assembling, testing and processing patient care equipment per policy and manufacturer instructions.

The technician will follow AAMI, JCAHO, CDC and state standards, ensuring sterile packaging and aseptic handling. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED, with CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• CRCST, HSPA or CBSPD certification (required).
• Recent experience in a surgical setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean and process surgical instrumentation per policies.
• Operate and monitor sterilizers and related equipment.
• Maintain inventory, restock supplies and document usage.
• Perform quality control and record-keeping for sterile products.
• Adhere to infection control standards and universal precautions.
• Assist in training and orienting new staff and students.
