Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a part-time Catering Supervisor for a private hospital near Lucan, Dublin. You will recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, ensuring high service standards and compliance with client expectations.

You will manage quality control, logistics of events, and client communications, while maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider team. Excellent English and proven supervisory skills are essential.

  • Supervision and Training - recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers, chefs, and support personnel.
  • Quality Control - monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Logistics Management - coordinate delivery, setup, and breakdown of catering equipment and supplies; oversee event flow.
  • Customer Service - maintain client relationships, handle inquiries and dietary needs with professionalism.
  • Admin Responsibilities - maintain records and support wider team operations.

Part Time: 20 hours per week

Rate of Pay: €19.00 per hour

WHAT WILL KEEP YOU BUSY:
  • Supervision and Training -recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers, chefs, and support personnel. Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to maintain a high level of performance.
  • Quality Control -monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations. Address and resolve any issues or concerns promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Logistics Management- coordinate delivery, setup, and breakdown of catering equipment and supplies. Oversee the flow of events, including food service, beverage distribution, and guest interactions. Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Customer Service -foster positive relationships with clients and guests, addressing their needs and concerns. Handle customer inquiries, requests, and special dietary requirements with professionalism and courtesy. Be curious, solicit feedback from clients to continuously improve catering services.
  • Admin Responsibilities - Carrying out a variety of administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and providing essential support to the wider team.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
  • You thrive on getting the best out of people and maximising commercial opportunities
  • You draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team
  • You provide a professional catering service, ensuring that company standards are maintained and that Client expectations are met
  • Have experience in a Supervisorrole ideally in contract catering or hospitality
  • Some healthcare experience desirable but not essential.
  • Good understanding of report writing and financial management.
  • Possess excellent supervisory and communication skills
  • Good delegation and influencing skills
  • Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
  • Must have good written and spoken English
