Job summary

Keelings in Ireland is seeking a Commercial Insights & Category Analyst to support the commercial team by understanding analytical insights and shopper behaviour. You will contribute to market reporting, update sales performance and monitor category trends.

The role involves reporting to the category manager, updating data from external providers, completing category reviews, tracking NPD performance, and working with sales, brand and buying teams to evaluate promotions and pricing.

Qualifications

• Relevant business/marketing degree completed.
• Experience with market reporting and analytics preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to category manager and assisting on business projects.
• Updating sales performance from external data providers (Dunnhumby).
• Completing category reviews and gap analysis for the Irish market.
• Tracking NPD performance and creating competitor trackers to measure market share.
• Collaborating with sales, brand and buying teams to evaluate promotions, pricing and profitability.
• Conducting regular store visits to understand market opportunities.
• Identifying drivers of in-store performance through shelf positioning and assortment.

Purpose of the Role

• To support the commercial team through understanding analytical insights & shopper behaviour.


• Key areas of responsibility include market reporting, updating sales performance and monitoring category trends.

Role Responsibilities

• Reporting to category manager & assisting on business projects


• Updating sales performance from external data providers (Dunnhumby)


• Completing category reviews & gap analysis reports on Irish market


• Track New Product Development (NPD) performance and create competitor trackers to measure market share


• Work closely with sales, brand, and buying teams to evaluate promotions, pricing, and category profitability


• Regular store visits to understand the market and identify growth opportunities


• Identify drivers of in-store performance through shelf positioning, assortment, promotions

Preferable

• Good knowledge of FMCG market and Irish retailers is an advantage


• Strong customer- and consumer-focused mindset, with the ability to translate insight into commercial action.

Qualifications

• A relevant business/marketing third level degree


• Possess a full, clean driving license


• Strong level proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.


• The ideal candidate would have 1 -2 years’ experience in a similar field.
