Job summary

Sunbeam House Services in Bray, County Wicklow, is seeking a Part-time Care Assistant for a Day Service setting. The role offers 135 hours per month with a Monday to Friday schedule, supporting clients to achieve personal outcomes and integrate into the community.

You will work as part of a team to promote rights, dignity, and independence, while assisting with daily living skills and wellbeing. Training and support provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (or foreign equivalent) validated by QQI.
• Passion for promoting and empowering those supported.
• Team player willing to lone work and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Post-qualification experience with adults with intellectual disability desirable.
• Legal right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Promote and protect rights, dignity, privacy and independence.
• Encourage development of meaningful roles in the community.
• Support overall wellbeing including health and personal care.

Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Care Assistant (135 hours per month) to join our services in a Day Service setting in Bray, County Wicklow. As a Care Assistant, you will be involved in supporting clients to achieve their personal outcomes to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their residential service and community. Working hours will be Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• To facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for our clients appropriate to their wishes and goals
• To promote and protect the rights of people in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy
• To actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities
• To ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in all areas of their lives including health and personal care
• To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence

Requirements:

Applicants must hold a minimum of Major QQI level 5 in healthcare or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI)

Applicants must have

Salary Scale

Successful candidates will be paid as per the HSE consolidated pay scales in line with required qualifications and relevant experience.
