Job summary

Sunbeam House Services in Bray, County Wicklow, is seeking a Part-time Care Assistant (Days) to join our residential service. You will support four adults with varying needs, Monday to Friday, in a home within Bray town centre close to shops and transport.

We require a Level 5 QQI in healthcare, a passion for empowering others, and a driver’s license with access to a car. Parknasilla is our residential setting, offering a supportive, collaborative team culture and opportunities to develop life

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a Major QQI level 5 in healthcare or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI).
• Passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
• Willing to lone work as well as be part of a team.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for clients according to their wishes and goals.
• Promote and protect the rights and dignity of clients, respecting privacy.
• Actively seek new interests and opportunities for clients to develop meaningful roles in the community.
• Ensure overall wellbeing of clients in all areas including health and personal care.
• Assist in teaching life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning and building confidence.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Care Assistant (Days) to join our services in a Residential setting in Bray, County Wicklow. As a Care Assistant, you will be involved in supporting clients to achieve their personal outcomes to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their residential service and community. Working hours will be Monday to Friday.

Parknasilla is a residential service that provides support to 4 adults, some who require a mix of high-level support and some who are more independent. It is a large house located in Bray town centre close to shops cafes and public transport. Both Day Shifts and Night Shifts are available, and you will be working in a supportive culture and joining a team with a strong blend of experience, creativity, and commitment to continuous improvement.

• Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car
• Post qualification experience of working with adults with intellectual disability is desirable
