Job summary

Sunbeam House Services in Bray, County Wicklow, seeks a Full-time Care Assistant to support clients in a residential setting. You will help people achieve personal outcomes, build potential and develop meaningful roles within their service and community.

Hours are variable, including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends and unsociable hours, with a person-centred approach that respects dignity, rights and privacy while promoting wellbeing.

Qualifications

• A passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
• Ability to work as part of a team and lone worker when needed.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Post-qualification experience with adults with intellectual disability is desirable.
• Legal right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Promote and protect clients’ rights with dignity and privacy.
• Encourage clients to develop meaningful roles in their communities.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full‑time Care Assistant to join our services in a Residential setting in Bray, County Wicklow. As a Care Assistant, you will be involved in supporting clients to achieve their personal outcomes to build on their potential and to develop positive roles within their residential service and community. Working hours will be Monday to Sunday. Working hours will be variable including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and unsociable hours.

Key Responsibilities

• To facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for our clients appropriate to their wishes and goals
• To promote and protect the rights of people in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy
• To actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities
• To ensure the overall wellbeing of clients in all areas of their lives including health and personal care
• To assist in the teaching of life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning & building confidence

Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of Major QQI level 5 in healthcare or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI).

Applicants must have:
