Job summary

The Heritage is opening Bláth café in Killenard, Laois, inviting guests to enjoy great coffee and wholesome food. We are seeking an experienced Cafe Supervisor to lead daily operations, train staff and uphold high service standards in a welcoming setting.

You will manage guest queries, support stock, and ensure cleanliness and safety while motivating the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience at Bláth.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in a café/coffee shop or similar food & beverage setting.
• Strong barista skills and passion for quality coffee.
• Experience in food prep and customer-facing service.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Hands-on approach with ability to work under pressure and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the café and ensure smooth service.
• Deliver warm, friendly and efficient guest service.
• Prepare and serve quality coffee with strong barista skills.
• Support food preparation and present dishes to a high standard.

Bláth is a little breath of fresh air — inspired by the land, shaped by nature and created for moments of comfort and calm. Our new café at The Heritage will be a welcoming space where guests can enjoy great coffee, wholesome food and a relaxed, memorable experience.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cafe Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in the successful opening and day-to-day running of Bláth.

As Cafe Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring our guests receive excellent service and our team delivers consistently high standards. You will lead by example, create a positive working environment and help establish the standards and atmosphere that will define Bláth.

Bláth will open 7 days a week from early morning to late afternoon. Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the café.
• Deliver warm, friendly and efficient guest service.
• Prepare and serve quality coffee, with strong barista skills.
• Support food preparation and ensure food is presented to a high standard.
• Maintain excellent cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Train, support and guide new team members to meet Bláth’s service and operational standards.
• Manage guest queries and resolve any issues professionally.
• Support stock control, daily opening and closing procedures, and the overall organisation of the café.
• Lead by example, motivating the team and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a café, coffee shop or similar food and beverage environment.
• Strong barista skills and a passion for great coffee.
• Experience in food preparation and customer-facing service.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• A hands‑on approach, with the ability to work well under pressure.
• A strong commitment to cleanliness, quality and guest satisfaction.
• A positive attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality.
