Business Process Improvement Manager - MEDITE SMARTPLY

MEDITE, Clonmel & SMARTPLY, Waterford, Ireland

To lead the design, standardisation, and continuous improvement of business processes, ensuring the organisation is ERP-ready and that processes implemented within ERP reflect best practice, efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

1. ERP Readiness – Process Mapping & Standardisation

• Lead end-to-end process mapping across all business functions
• Document current (“as-is”) and future (“to-be”) processes
• Ensure alignment with ERP standard capabilities
• Drive standardisation across sites and functions

2. Process Design for ERP

• Define and document ERP-aligned target operating model
• Collaborate with ERP functional teams to embed best practice
• Challenge customisation in favour of standardisation

3. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Lead Lean / Six Sigma initiatives across operations
• Identify inefficiencies, waste, and improvement opportunities
• Deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, and service

4. Business Process Governance

• Establish process ownership framework across organisation
• Define process KPIs and performance tracking
• Ensure governance of process changes post-ERP

5. Data & Process Integration Support

• Support master data definition and standardisation
• Ensure processes align with data models and system design
• Work closely with ICT to align business and system processes

6. Capability Building & Culture

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement
• Train business teams in process excellence and standardisation
• Mentor process owners and operational leaders

Key Performance Indicators

• End-to-end process maps (Level 1–4), with process standardisation across sites
• ERP-aligned “to-be” process models, with ultimate ERP readiness (process maturity, documentation completeness)
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Process governance framework
• Process KPIs and performance dashboards
• Efficiency gains (cost, cycle time, productivity)
• Reduction in process variation / errors

Typical Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience

• Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt preferred) and process mapping (BPMN, value stream mapping).
• 7–10 years process improvement / operational excellence experience in manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of ERP-enabled processes and operational excellence frameworks
• Hands-on process mapping and improvement delivery with exposure to ERP implementations (desired)
• Ability to influence without direct authority, cross-functional collaboration expertise and strong facilitation and workshop skills
• Analytical and structured, with a continuous improvement mindset, strong attention to detail and pragmatic and solution-oriented
• Proven ability to manage change effectively, whilst considering technology, business processes, and people.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
