Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Executive for a leading roofing and aluminium rainwater supplier in Ireland. The role involves 4 days on the road weekly, engaging with merchants and contractors across regions, and offers real autonomy and variety.

You will split time between driving merchant sales, promoting aluminium rainwater products, and handling pricing/admin. Long sales cycles are expected, with no targets for the first 6 months.

About Your New Job

• As the Business Development Executive, you will spend 4 days a week on the road, engaging with merchants and contractors across all regions - no fixed routes, giving you real autonomy and variety.
• You will split your focus between driving merchant sales (35%), promoting aluminium rainwater products (35%), and handling pricing/admin (30%).
• You will champion products known for their premium pricing, aesthetic appeal, and durability, often specified for commercial developments.
• You will manage long sales cycles (up to 12 months), but are expected to generate activity/enquiries within your first three months. There are no sales targets for the first 6 months.
• You will work hands-on, including site visits and demonstrations, sometimes donning a hard hat and boots and obtaining a Safe Pass if required.

What Skills You Need

• Experience in business development or sales, ideally in roofing, building materials, plastics, or a related sector.
• Ability and willingness to engage directly with installers and contractors - hands-on approach is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable working autonomously across all regions.
• Full, clean driving licence.
