Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is seeking a talented bridge engineering technician with at least six years of relevant experience for a permanent position in our Dublin offices. The role covers delivering bridge and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects and requires proficiency in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and 3D modelling.

You will produce models and drawings, supervise junior staff, and collaborate with teams in Ireland and the UK, with a strong emphasis on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of relevant experience in modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures.
• Higher certificate in civil or structural engineering (Level 6) or equivalent.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and structural steel detailing.
• Experience in 3D modelling using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Fluent or highly proficient English.

Responsabilités

• Production of engineering models, drawings and details for bridges, walls, culverts and other civil structures.
• Preparation of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design drawings.
• Act as project technician on multidisciplinary projects.
• Review steel fabrication and shop drawings.
• Deliver high-quality drawings in a timely manner; mentor junior colleagues.

Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is seeking to appoint a talented bridge engineering technician with a minimum of six years' relevant experience for a permanent position in our Dublin offices

About the role

As an experienced bridge engineering technician, you will play an integral role in the delivery of our bridge and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects.

You will be supported by our teams in Ireland and the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Production of engineering models, drawings and details for various types of bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other civil structures
• Preparation of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design drawings
• Performance of the role of project technician on multidisciplinary projects
• Review of steel fabrication drawings and shop drawings
• Delivery of high-quality engineering drawings in a timely manner
• Guidance and mentorship of junior colleagues
• A minimum of a higher certificate in civil or structural engineering (Level 6 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience of modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures
• Proficient in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and structural steelwork detailing
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality drawings
• Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Flexible, motivated and focused
• A strong work ethic
• Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tight deadlines
• Experience in 3D modelling using AutoCAD or other suitable software
• Ability to use a range of software packages, such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks
