Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) in Dublin is seeking a Bridge Engineering Technician with at least six years of relevant experience for a permanent role. Location options include Sandyford, D.18 or Woodford, D.17, with a competitive salary.

You will contribute to bridge and multidisciplinary civil projects and are supported by teams across Ireland and the UK. You will produce engineering drawings, review fabrication details, and mentor junior colleagues while delivering high-quality work on tight

Qualifications

• A minimum of six years of relevant experience modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures.
• Higher certificate in civil/structural engineering (Level 6) or equivalent.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and structural steel detailing.
• Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Flexible, motivated and focused with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Production of engineering models, drawings and details for bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other civil structures.
• Preparation of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design drawings.
• Serve as project technician on multidisciplinary projects.
• Review steel fabrication drawings and shop drawings.
• Delivery of high-quality engineering drawings in a timely manner.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues.

Bridge Engineering Technician - Dublin

Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is seeking to appoint a talented bridge engineering technician with a minimum of six years' relevant experience for a permanent position in our Dublin offices.

About the role

As an experienced bridge engineering technician, you will play an integral role in the delivery of our bridge and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects.

You will be supported by our teams in Ireland and the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Production of engineering models, drawings and details for various types of bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other civil structures

• Preparation of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design drawings

• Performance of the role of project technician on multidisciplinary projects

• Review of steel fabrication drawings and shop drawings

• Delivery of high-quality engineering drawings in a timely manner

• Guidance and mentorship of junior colleagues

Essential

• A minimum of a higher certificate in civil or structural engineering (Level 6 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent

• A minimum of six years of relevant experience of modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures

• Proficient in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and structural steelwork detailing

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality drawings

• Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English

• Flexible, motivated and focused

• A strong work ethic

• Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tight deadlines

Desirable

• Experience in 3D modelling using AutoCAD or other suitable software

• Ability to use a range of software packages, such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks
