Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny is seeking a Midweek Breakfast Supervisor to lead the breakfast service on shift, ensuring guests enjoy a warm welcome, efficient service and high food and beverage standards. The role suits someone with supervisory or strong F&B experience who thrives with early starts and owning a busy breakfast operation.

Pay starts at €15.50 per hour, with a typical 40-hour week and opportunities for training and development within our established four-star hotel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily breakfast service and ensure the department is fully prepared before opening.
• Lead, organise and allocate duties to the breakfast team.
• Ensure all guests are welcomed promptly and receive friendly, professional service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the restaurant and breakfast areas.
• Monitor the breakfast buffet throughout service, ensuring food is replenished quickly and presented to a high standard.
• Liaise closely with the kitchen team regarding guest numbers, dietary requirements, buffet levels and service requirements.
• Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned and reset efficiently during busy periods.
• Deal professionally with guest requests, feedback or complaints and escalates issues to management where required.
• Ensure staff follow the hotel's service standards, uniform requirements and operating procedures.
• Assist with training and developing breakfast team members.
• Monitor staffing levels and ensure breaks and duties are organised effectively.
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
• Complete any required breakfast paperwork, handovers or operational checks.
• Maintain excellent communication with Reception regarding house count, groups, VIP guests, early departures and special requirements.
• Ensure all food safety, HACCP, health and safety and hygiene procedures are followed.
• Support the wider Food & Beverage operation when required.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, organised and customer-focused Breakfast Supervisor to take responsibility for the smooth running of our breakfast service during the week.

The successful candidate will lead the breakfast team on shift, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome, efficient service and a consistently high standard of food and beverage presentation.

This role would suit someone with previous supervisory or strong food and beverage experience who enjoys early starts and is confident taking ownership of a busy breakfast operation.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should:

• Have previous experience in a hotel, restaurant or busy food and beverage environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is desirable, although an experienced senior waiter/waitress ready to progress will also be considered.
• Be comfortable leading a team and taking responsibility for a shift.
• Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Be organised, reliable and able to work efficiently during busy periods.
• Have strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Be confident dealing with guests and resolving issues professionally.
• Be punctual and comfortable with early morning starts.
• Be flexible where required to meet the needs of the hotel.

Working Pattern

This position is primarily focused on midweek breakfast service, Monday to Friday, with early morning starts.

Exact hours will depend on business levels and will be discussed with the successful candidate.
