Job summary

A+F Recruitment represents a global pharmaceutical company establishing its Irish operations. They seek an experienced bookkeeper to join a small team, handling bookkeeping, VAT compliance, management accounting support, and business analytics alongside basic office administration.

You will work with the Finance Manager and CEO on AP/AR, bank reconciliations, month end, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, with exposure to ERP improvements and automation including Microsoft Copilot.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience across finance, accounts, bookkeeping or related role.
  • Good experience with AP, AR, VAT and bank reconciliations.
  • Exposure to month end and management accounts.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Dynamics NAV or Business Central experience would be useful.

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support accounts payable activities, including supplier invoice processing and payment preparation.
  • Support accounts receivable activities including account reconciliations and credit control.
  • Process bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with month-end close activities.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare and post journals.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Prepare management accounts and supporting schedules to review stage.
  • Assist with variance analysis and month-end commentary.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Utilise ERP and reporting systems to extract, validate and analyse data.
  • Support ad hoc business analysis projects and strategic decision-making.
  • Support the continued use of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve reporting efficiency and automate repetitive tasks
  • Support process improvement initiatives and business projects.
  • Participate in system improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the CEO and Finance Manager.
  • Assist with correspondence and general office enquiries.
  • Support company events, meetings and operational projects as required.

Job description

My client, a global pharmaceutical research and development company, is establishing it's Irish operations and is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join their small team. This is a broad and varied role combining bookkeeping, finance support, business analytics and some basic office administration.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and CEO, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including bookkeeping, VAT compliance, management accounting support, business analytics and office administration. You will also providing meaningful reporting and business insights to support decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance or bookkeeping professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities.

Working closely with the Finance Manager and CEO, you’ll get involved in everything from AP, AR, VAT and bank reconciliations through to month end, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. There’s also exposure to ERP improvements, automation and the use of tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
