Euro Executive Recruitment in Cork seeks an experienced Bookkeeper/Payroll specialist to join our client's team. The role covers end-to-end bookkeeping, payroll data preparation, and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Administrator, Payroll Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
  • Bookkeeping experience including reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Experience within the construction or manufacturing industry (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Professional, reliable, and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage accounting software.
  • Manage the full bookkeeping function including day-to-day financial administration.
  • Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit notes, and expenses.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process supplier payments and payment runs.
  • Monitor cash flow, track company expenditure, and flag variances.
  • Assist with payroll administration, timesheets, and payroll data preparation.
  • Maintain VAT records and assist with VAT returns preparation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and resolve queries.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries for management review.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors, providing required documentation.
  • Ensure financial records are audit-ready and compliant with company policies.
  • Maintain confidential financial documentation and filing systems.
