Job summary

MSD Ireland is seeking an Upstream Process Science Lab Technical Lead for our Dunboyne, Co. Meath facility. You will lead upstream laboratory studies, drive process understanding, and support technology transfer across the site and network.

The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and a proactive safety and quality mindset. We look for a degree in Science/Technical field with 6+ years in biopharma upstream roles; MSc/PhD is desirable.

Qualifications

Degree in Science or Technical field; MSc/PhD desirable.
Minimum 6 years in biopharmaceutical development or MS&T with upstream biologics experience.
Strong GMP, data integrity and regulatory knowledge.
Proven ability to interpret datasets and translate findings into manufacturing actions.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Manage a team of Upstream scientists designing and executing scale-down studies.
Oversee small-scale studies to support technology transfer and lifecycle changes.
Provide technical leadership for upstream unit operations (cell culture, harvest, scale-down).
Support new product introduction across Drug Substance and Cell Banking programs.
Lead and coach others to solve problems and continuously improve.
