Job summary

Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a decisive Operations Leader to oversee end-to-end biologics drug substance manufacturing in Dublin, reporting to the Senior Director, Operations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical manufacturing ops, quality, or technical services, with biologics experience preferred.
• Experience building high-performing operations with strong risk, quality, and compliance management.
• Proven leadership and talent development, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Practical experience with digital transformation and AI-enabled tools in operations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain high-reliability operations with contingency readiness and risk mitigation.
• Evaluate and implement digital/AI solutions to improve yield, throughput, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Build, inspire, and retain a first-class manufacturing organization with safety and compliance as priorities.
• Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with EHS, QA, Engineering, Technical Services, and Supply Chain.
• Mentor teams through organizational and process changes and drive adoption.
• Own and communicate production performance metrics; manage capacity and cycle times.
• Lead regulatory inspections, submissions, and licensure activities; ensure flawless tech transfers and NPIs.
• Provide timely, data-driven updates to senior and corporate stakeholders.
