Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Athlone, Ireland, is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Lead to guide Bioprocess Technicians across a 24/7 operation. You will lead safe, compliant production and ensure execution of approved schedules while upholding cGMP and quality standards.

You will mentor staff, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with Quality Assurance, Automation and Engineering to maintain production continuity in a fast-paced biologics setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cGMP-regulated biologics manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of SOPs and batch records.
• Deep understanding of data integrity principles (ALCOA+).

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of production activities against the approved manufacturing schedule.
• Coordinate shift priorities, organise resources and maintain clear communication between shifts.
• Oversee and, where required, perform manufacturing activities across upstream and downstream processing areas.
• Make informed shift-level decisions and elevate operational issues appropriately.
• Deliver clear shift handovers and provide timely updates to site leadership and partner functions.
