Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group seeks a BIM Technician to join its Dublin Digital Construction Team. You will produce and update detailed BIM models for mechanical and electrical services, develop coordinated models, and collaborate across engineers, designers and site teams to ensure accurate project information.

You will identify clashes, prepare installation drawings, and implement design changes while maintaining model quality and meeting deadlines throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in BIM, Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.
• Experience in a BIM Technician or similar role within the construction or building services sector.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination tools is an advantage.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, modelling practices and clash detection processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical information.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Producing and updating detailed 3D BIM models and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical building services.
• Developing coordinated models and drawings in line with project specifications, design standards and construction requirements.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers and site teams to ensure accurate and coordinated project information.
• Identifying and resolving clashes between building services and other disciplines.
• Preparing layouts, sections, schematics and installation drawings for construction.
• Incorporating design changes and ensuring drawings and models are kept up to date throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supporting design reviews, coordination meetings and the resolution of technical queries.
• Ensuring BIM models and documentation meet project quality standards and agreed deadlines.
