Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group in Cork is seeking a BIM Technician to support our expanding Digital Construction team. You will create and update detailed 3D BIM models and drawings for mechanical and electrical services across Europe, UK and Ireland.

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (Navisworks a plus), coordinating with engineers, designers and site teams to resolve clashes and deliver accurate documentation on schedule.

Qualifications

• Relevant BIM, engineering or building services qualification.
• Experience as BIM Technician or similar in construction.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; Navisworks a plus.
• Solid understanding of mechanical/electrical building services.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and clash detection.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Producing and updating detailed 3D BIM models and drawings for mechanical and electrical building services.

• Ensuring BIM models and documentation meet project quality standards and agreed deadlines.

Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in our Head Office in Cork, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Digital Construction team as a BIM Technician, supporting the delivery of our projects which cover a wide variety of sectors.

Your day will include:

• Producing and updating detailed 3D BIM models and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical building services.
• Developing coordinated models and drawings in line with project specifications, design standards and construction requirements.

About You

• Relevant qualification in BIM, Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.
• Experience in a BIM Technician or similar role within the construction or building services sector.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination tools is an advantage.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, modelling practices and clash detection processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical information.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
