Job summary

Ward & Burke is seeking a bid writer to join our expanding head office team, delivering well-structured tender submissions for civil engineering projects in water and wastewater. You will coordinate input from estimating, commercial, design and operations, turning technical information into strong written responses.

You will manage deadlines, tender documents and submissions, ensuring each bid meets client criteria and scoring requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in bid writing or a similar role.
• Construction and engineering experience with HSQ requirements.
• Strong written English and document preparation.
• Ability to coordinate information from multiple teams.
• Strong MS Word, PowerPoint and document formatting.
• Knowledge across Civil, Structural and MEICA is preferrable.
• Experience developing tender programmes using MS Project.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a bid writer to join our expanding head office team.

The bid writer will be responsible for preparing well-structured tender submissions for civil engineering projects in particular within the water and wastewater industry. This will include the coordination of bid information from estimating, commercial, design and operational teams, turning technical project information into strong written responses. You will manage deadlines, tender documentation and submissions while ensuring each bid addresses the client’s project specific requirements and scoring criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate PQQs, tender submissions and bid documentation.
• Work with estimating, commercial, design and project teams to gather technical information.

• Review tender documents, request appropriate further information where required and ensure responses address client criteria.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Must have previous experience (minimum 3 years) in bid writing or a similar role.
• Construction and engineering experience is required with a strong understanding of technical elements along with the associated Health, Safety and Quality requirements.
• Strong written English and document preparation skills are essential
• Proven ability to manage tender deadlines and coordinate information from multiple teams.
• Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and document formatting skills.
• Ability to develop tender programmes including the use of Microsoft Project is preferrable.
• Knowledge across Civil, Structural and MEICA disciplines is preferrable.

Salary: €55-65k depending on suitability and relative experience
