Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Data/BI Engineer to design and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, and complex DAX measures. You will implement SQL transformations within a medallion architecture and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.

You'll work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Lakehouse components, ensuring data quality and governance while presenting insights to stakeholders on tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering/ Maths.
• 3–5+ years in Data/BI engineering or similar role.
• Strong hands-on Power BI/Synapse/Azure/Fabric experience.
• Proficiency in Power BI, SQL; Python (PySpark) a plus.
• Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse).
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
• Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, or Fabric are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI semantic models and reports.
• Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns.
• Build and optimize SQL transformations in a medallion architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and integrity.
• Prepare management information and present actionable recommendations.
• Maintain relationships with business stakeholders to validate outputs.
• Develop data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components (Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake).
