Job summary

Muiríosa Foundation seeks a Behaviour Therapist to join our evolving psychology services. The post offers a fixed-term maternity leave cover with 75 hours per fortnight and flexible office base (Tullamore or Mullingar).

You will work with the Senior Psychologist and Principal Psychology Manager to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, applying evidence-based interventions and person-centred values.

Qualifications

  • Honours primary degree in psychology or equivalent.
  • Post-graduate professional qualification in behavioural psychology or equivalent (e.g. BCBA) or working towards same.
  • Eligible for graduate of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Relevant experience with people with intellectual disabilities and Autistic adults with high support needs.
  • Experience in designing individualised support arrangements for adults with exceptional needs.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for families and staff teams.
  • Demonstrated competencies in delivering staff training.
  • Understanding of social role valorisation.
  • Commitment to person-centred values.
  • Willingness and availability to work flexible hours and travel across a broad geographical area.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with the psychology team and Senior Psychologist.
  • Office base is negotiable – Tullamore or Mullingar.
  • Deliver interventions guided by neurodiversity affirmative practice.
  • Support professional development and supervision for staff.

Description

Role: Behaviour Therapist

Tenure: 75 [RC1] hrs a fortnight – F[RC2] ixed term Maternity Leave Cover

The successful candidate will become a key member of an evolving psychological services team led by the Principal Psychology Manager. The post will involve close collaborative working with the Senior Psychologist. The post holder will provide psychological supports to a broad range of individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism and mental health concerns. The office base is negotiable – Tullamore or Mullingar.

  • Full driving license, access to car and ability to travel across a broad geographical area (essential).
