Job summary

The Rehab Group in Ireland is seeking a Psychologist on a fixed-term 12‑month, 28‑hour week contract. The role is based at Navan/Dundalk within the National Learning Network, focusing on person-centred assessment, therapy, and positive behaviour support.

Collaboration with families and professionals is core to the role. Applicants should hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Psychology and be Chartered (or eligible) with PSI or BPS, with at least three years in Learning Disability/Autism/Mental

Qualifications

  • Master’s and/or Doctorate level in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Chartered membership (or eligible for) with the Psychological Society of Ireland or Chartered membership (or eligible for) of the British Psychological Society.
  • At least 3 years work experience in Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Health/Physical or Sensory Disability.

Responsibilities

  • Psychological assessment & intervention – conduct assessments, develop evidence‑based interventions, and provide professional reports to support service users' needs.
  • Support planning & guidance – assist students/service users in setting personal goals, preparing for individual action plans, and identifying social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
  • Staff training & clinical supervision – provide training, guidance, and supervision to staff, rehabilitation officers, and trainee psychologists to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
  • Collaboration & stakeholder engagement – build strong internal and external relationships, liaising with families, professionals, and external agencies to enhance integrated service provision.
  • Quality assurance & research – contribute to service evaluation, risk management, research, and policy development to ensure high‑quality psychological services and evidence‑based practices.

Psychologist

Fixed term 12 months, 28 hours per week

Location: Navan/Dundalk

Salary from 1€58,033.03 to 10€83,708.52 per annum (pro rata), subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Purpose

At the National Learning Network, we are committed to supporting people with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives. We are currently seeking a dedicated, compassionate Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you will contribute to person‑centred assessment, therapeutic intervention, and positive behaviour support, working closely with individuals, families, and colleagues to promote wellbeing and independence.

What we’re looking for:
  • Relevant Master’s and/or Doctorate level, professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Chartered membership (or eligible for) with the Psychological Society of Ireland or Chartered membership (or eligible for) of the British Psychological Society.
  • At least 3 years work experience in the field of Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Health/Physical or Sensory Disability.
  • An understanding of the Recovery Approach and of Person Centred Planning would be an advantage.
  • Strong skills in IT, organisation & communication.
  • Deep understanding of disability, training impact, and employment preparation.
  • Commitment to best practices & safeguarding.
Your Responsibilities
