Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking an enthusiastic Barista to join our Galway café team. You will craft exceptional coffee beverages, engage with customers, and maintain a clean, efficient workstation in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have proven Barista experience, strong knowledge of coffee extraction and milk steaming, and excellent customer service. Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café/hospitality role.
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and coffee preparation equipment.
• Strong knowledge of coffee extraction techniques, grinding, tamping, and milk steaming.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment, ensuring they are clean and functioning optimally.
• Steam and froth milk with precision to create consistent microfoam for cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service, taking orders accurately and responding to customer preferences and requests.
• Process payments using the point-of-sale system and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Stock and rotate supplies, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
• Engage with customers to build rapport, answer questions about our coffee offerings, and make recommendations.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and support colleagues in delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Barista certification or formal training in coffee preparation (desirable) Experience creating latte art and decorative beverage designs (desirable) Knowledge of different coffee origins, roasts, and flavour profiles (desirable) Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute positively to the workplace culture
