Job summary

Ravenport Resort in Ireland is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Assistant with bar experience to join our team. You will warmly welcome guests, assist with seating, and ensure service excellence in a 4-star hotel environment.

The role requires 1–2 years bar experience, a flexible attitude to shifts (late evenings, midweek and weekends), and strong team-working and communication skills. Availability for evenings and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years bar experience in a similar role.
• Over 18 for service of alcohol.

• Natural team player with excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on arrival and seat them when appropriate.
• Deliver high standard guest service across all service areas.
• Anticipate guest needs and assist accordingly.
• Know department products, opening times, menus, beverages and pricing.
• Take orders promptly and accurately, with allergen awareness.
• Upsell menu items and beverages to promote sales.
• Keep service areas and glassware clean and tidy, and maintain clean menus.

Ravenport Resort are currently recruiting for an experienced Food & Beverage Assistant with Bar experience
The ideal candidate will be a natural team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They will have a minimum of one to two years previous bar experience in a similar role and have a flexible attitude towards shift work as late evenings, midweek and weekend work is required.
The role:

• Ensure all guests are given a warm and friendly welcome throughout the hotel and on arrival into service areas, and where appropriate, meet, greet, and seat guests.


• To offer the highest level of guest service in all service areas, ensuring the agreed 4* standards are achieved at all times.


• Anticipate guest needs and assistance that may be required, whilst being attentive to the smallest details.


• Ensure that you have an in-depth knowledge of your department and products, in respect of opening times, menus, beverages, and pricing.


• Ensure orders are taken promptly and accurately and ensure you are knowledgeable of allergen awareness, dietary requirements, and product awareness.


• Ensure effective communication to deliver the correct standard of service.


• Be able to recommend and upsell menu items, wine, and beverages, and promote sales throughout the hotel.


• Ensure all glassware and tableware is thoroughly polished, salt and pepper cellars are cleaned and filled, table and chairs are disinfected and cleaned, and all menus cleaned, prior to service, or prior to seating guests at tables.


• Ensure that all service areas are immaculate during after service, ensure bins are emptied, floors mopped/hoovered, dirty linen removed and stored appropriately, and glass surfaces cleaned.


• Ensure counter tops, table tops and bases and furniture are clean at all times.


• Ensure that all service areas are immaculate at all times for weddings, events, guests & viewing appointments.


• Ensure you are aware of all total hotel facilities.


• Ensure all issues and complaints are promptly addressed and communicated to your supervisor or manager.


• Ensure enough stock or mise en place is left for the next shift.

Applicants must be over 18 for the service of alcohol and available during the week and not only at weekends; therefore, this role may not suit students.
