Job summary

VANRATH, a leading technology consultancy in Ireland, is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to deliver cloud-based data solutions for enterprise clients on an initial 6-month contract. The role combines hands-on data engineering with strategic analytics in a hybrid/remote setup.

You will design scalable pipelines using Snowflake, Databricks and Azure Data Services, mentor teams, and work closely with clients to translate complex requirements into robust ETL/ELT pipelines and governance

Qualifications

• Senior Data Engineer/consultant with commercial experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake and Databricks expertise.
• Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake experience.
• Advanced SQL and Python or PySpark skills.
• Proven ability to build enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modelling, governance and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms.
• Build and optimise solutions using Snowflake, Databricks and Azure Data Services.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows for complex datasets.
• Support data migration, integration and transformation projects.
• Provide technical guidance and promote best practices in data engineering.
• Work closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

About you

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Data Consultant
• Hands-on expertise with Snowflake and Databricks
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake
• Advanced SQL and Python or PySpark skills
• Proven ability to build enterprise-level ETL/ELT pipelines
• Knowledge of data modelling, governance, and data quality practices
• Previous consultancy or client-facing delivery experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
